New Tricks

Tayson has learned a few new tricks.

He can blow bubbles, and loves to do so, resulting in LOTS of drool for momma to wipe off his face or her arm or any other place he chooses to let it fall.
He has learned how to flash gang signs ... although I'm not sure which gang this sign belongs to.
He has learned how to talk on the phone to Grandma Nelly and Aunt Annie ... ok, so he wasn't really talking to anyone, but I thought it would be a cute picture. ... And I just love how huge his eyes are in this one.
He's learned how to pull momma's hair ... which is why momma is probably going to be getting a haircut. I never understood why mom's always have short hair. Now I do. He has always grabbed it, but never hard and he always let go whenever I would tug a little on it. Well, now he gets a firm grasp and holds on. I have to pry open his fingers to get it out.
*************************
HOWEVER!!! Those aren't his best tricks. Most of the time when I tickle his chest and tummy, he will get this look on his face where he's not quite sure if he's supposed to laugh or cry. Every once in a while he'll start to cry, but usually, we'll get the most adorable chuckle. And it's not a normal chuckle ... he'll start to get a worried look but then he'll do his little half smile that he does and do a half grunt half chuckle. It's the most adorable thing I've ever heard/seen.
*************************
He also laughs when I take his hands and clap them together and say "YAAAAAAY" and then after he'll open his mouth real wide in the biggest open mouth grin I've ever seen.

I definitely have been starting to see his personality coming out a lot. There are times when he fights sleep, most of the time he'll go to sleep on his own right away, but we have our moments. That's when momma, who can't sing a note in tune, will sing him to sleep. He knows what I am trying to do, and it used to be that it would put him to sleep right away. The last couple times he starts to laugh at me when I start to sing. I'm not sure if it's because I suck at singing, he knows it, and is laughing at my expense, or if it's because he doesn't want to go to sleep, OR (which is what I think) he just knows that he'll get me to laugh if he does it. I know people say that babies can't really know how to do that kind of thing so young, but I truly think that he knows that when he laughs, I laugh. I really think he just tries to get me to laugh. It's the most adorable thing in the world, and I would love to get it on video, except I would be too embarassed to record my singing.

The other side of his personality, is I really think he knows when the camera is out. Everytime I try to record one of these last few events I've said, he doesn't do it. He just looks at me like I'm a weirdo (which, in his defense, is true).
**************************
I did, however, get his best trick recorded ... barely. He, if I get him into the squatting position, will stand up all on his own. He'll push with his legs to get into a standing position. I love it, and here it is on the video below. He also, when he gets tired, will slowly bend his legs till he's in the squatting position again, and then I'll lay him back against my legs. Then he'll lift his head up when he wants to do it again. And he really does push with his legs, I'm just steadying him by holding his hands. (FYI ... the recorder wasn't supposed to get me in the video, because I was still in my PJ's ... but I got in so just don't look at me)
